Totally Addicted......

So last week we came across FlavorIce and Kris brought the box, and I thought that was crazy-what do we need more popciles for? He has been eating them like crazy and I had none....until last night. I get so overheated that I eat my way through a box of popciles faster than anyone can believe. I had to have a bit of one of Kris' last night and I didn't stop....I ended up eating a few before bed. So much better for you than the Kit Kat bars. I remember loving them as a kid, but never really thinking of them much as an adult. I like slushing things and not frozen things. Kris bangs them against the side of fridge until they are slushy......I never thought of that, and now I am bashing them against the fridge too! PERFECT! I really think I had one of each flavor last night....

I just can't seem to get enough of Kit Kat bars lately. Everyone knows that I love candy, but this is new intense thing for me. I LOVE them. It is my new craving and I can't seem to get enough! I have always had a thing for chocolate, but the wafer things is what is getting me now. I know that this too will pass but for now and I am really enjoying it. AND over indulging.....no wonder I am packing it on!

Last week was an interesting week for school stuff. Right before it started I mentioned to Kris that I was freaking out, having anxiety problems and such. I kept asking myself these ridiculous questions. "What happens if one of the kids gets hurt at recess? What happens if they walk in front of the bus? What happens if Drew doesn't know where to get off the bus?" Random random questions, but still I was really truly fearful of these things happening to the kids. Well, every single one of the things that I listed has happened.

On the second day of school Elaine comes home and I great her at the door-she has what can only be described as road rash from her eyebrow to hairline above her left eye. I freak out asking "What happened?" She says "There is a note in my backpack that explains it." As if it is no big deal. So I rush to check out the backpack and the only note in there isn't about how she got hurt but how to take care of a child with a concussion. HELLO! ELAINE! I ask her what happened again, and this time with a snotty attitude she says "I told you that note would explain it." After a bit a of pushing and explaining that the only thing that the note said was how to take care of a child who had a concussion was she willing to explain what actually did happen. I guess she was just swinging too high on the wings and fell off.....onto the mulch but the much had moved and it was exposing the mat that is under the mulch. So really no big deal we got over it quick and you can hardly tell that she had mat rash just a few days ago.

The next morning I am at my Stampin' Up club meeting and I call from the school nurse on my cell. Drew has been hurt and has a cut over his eye. Here is the conversation:
School Nurse: "Hi I have Drew here in my office, he ran into a poll in the hallway and has a cut above his eye, we have put ice on it........etc...."
Me: "Do I need to come and get him and take him to get stitches?"
SN: "No, he is doing fine, he never cried about it, and he is laughing." (Anyone who knows Drew I am sure can picture this in there head, Drew really would think it was just the coolest thing to go to the nurses office.)
Me: "Does he want to go back to class?"
SN: "Yes, I think he does."
Me: "Well, with you being a nurse, is it safe for him to go back to class?"
SN: "Oh I think so."
Me: "Great! Send him back!"

There was more to the conversation....basically laughing at the fact that she had both of my kids in her office in the first 3 days of school.

Elaine likes to walk down the middle of the street. The bus driver is tired of this! He told her yesterday that if she does it again he is writing her up. What does that mean? Has anyone ever heard the bus driver writing you up? Does she get detention for it? So I guess that answers my question, if one of the kids walks in front of the bus-the driver yells at them. I can handle that, I am glad that he is paying attention to where the kids are once they get off the bus.

And of course we know what happens when Drew doesn't get off of the bus-they bring him back! I love that each of my questions was answered with simple things and not the dramatic ones that I was coming up with in head.

Last week I had another ultra-sound. Loved it!!! This little guy is moving around a bunch and his big for how far along I am. We confirmed again...still a boy. From the measurements and things is is 4lbs and 12 oz. So that is 12 oz. more that what the norm is. This is so neat.....we had a great profile shot of him and he was swallowing and sticking out his tongue and things we saw it all, it was amazing how clear it all was. I could have sat and watched it forever. He has big lips-almost as if he was puckering, and HUGE checks! Just like Izzy did when she was born. So the date at the present time is Oct. 10thish. I have another ultrasound on the 9th and so the doc said that night or the next day. YIPPEE!!! Still looking like a big baby but with him coming over 2 weeks sooner than any of the other kids hopefully he wont be as big as what we are thinking he could be.

Maybe I should think about blogging more often like I used to instead of having these marathon things....but at the same when things happen I think that are really blog material and then later on I find myself rethinking it and adding a bunch at the same time.

First Day of School! (super long blog)

Today was the first day of school for Elaine and Drew. So happy! They both were very excited, and I really am happy to get back a normal schedule.... below are a few pics. The end of last week and the beginning of this week was crazy. We suddenly realized that Elaine had grown out and Drew had grown up, and neither one of them really had any shorts that fit. So I had to do some mad shopping-I know every knows that I normally think that is a great thing but I just hurt so bad right now that the idea of walking from the parking lot to the mall entrance seems overwhelming not to mention each of the different stores and then trying clothes on kids, and pushing the double stroller around so that 2 of 3 are at least strapped in. I have been getting really car sick so that threw out actually driving up to the outlet mall. Okay enough of me complaining, last Friday I got the computer and did some online shopping! What did I do before the Internet? I ended up finding a few outfits for each of them on line, and still ended up having to go to the mall. Who knew that all the summer clothes goes on sale in August and you have to pick through things just to find the right sizes!!! Okay, okay being the shopper that I am I really did know that but it didn't make it any less annoying. I am still in pain from my shopping trip on Monday-but I got it done!!!! YAY!
Drew right before heading out.

Elaine right before heading out.

Izzy had to be involved so here is all three of them.

They have so much stuff to take on the first day that I wanted to get a picture of Drew with backpack-how he didn't fall over backwards-I have no idea.

I had the kids sit down next to all the stuff that I had to take with them. There are bags of things that wouldn't fit into the backpacks. When I was younger my mom always took me to school on the first day of the year. I loved it! So I have decided to keep that thing going with my kids. Not that they could even get on the bus and carry all of there stuff.

Elaine at her desk....I loved the crossed eyes!

Drew sitting as his table. I was so excited when I realized that he was using his left hand! I really want one lefty. I know that most people know what hand a child is going to use by the time that they are this age, but Drew has been switching back and forth, and we are letting him decide what feels right, but I really really want at least one lefty!

This is Drew and Karina. She was in his preschool class and they are the only two that moved into kindergarten together. They have a great friendship-I think that she has a crush on him and I have been trying to figure out if the feeling is mutual, but he doesn't say much. They used to ride the same bus and would always sit next to each other and he seems to be her security blanket when she is unsure about things. So neat-she was adopted from Russia and looks just like adoptive mother. They first time that I met her mom I just new that Mary was Karina's mom, just by looking and I was shocked when I found out that she was adopted! Amazing how those things end up working out!

With it being Drew's first day of Kindergartner and with me being pregnant I thought for sure that I would get way emotional over it all. I was teary eyed when we walked into the class room and Kris was fine. Then we left the class room I was okay and Kris was having his moment. We (as parents) got a treat bag....I didn't read the note until we had a "meet & great" the PSA in the school library...then I took a look and got teary eyed again! In the bag was an apple and a note that said:

"An Apple for the teacher

Is really nothing new

Except when you remember

Parents are teachers too."

Isn't that cute!!!! BUT the note on the outside is what really got me....:

The First Day

"I gave you a wink and bright smile

As you entered my room today.

For I know how hard it is to leave

And know your child must stay.

You've been with him for five years now

And have been a loving guide,

But now, alas, the time has come

To leave him at my side.

Just know that as you drive away

And tears down your cheeks may flow

I'll love him as I would my own

And help him learn and grow.

For as a parent, I too know

How quickly the years do pass

And years ago, it was my turn

To take my baby to class.

So please do put your mind at ease

And cry those tears no more

For I will love him and take him in

When you leave him at my door."

I am sure that Kris didn't notice, but when I read that-it was so hard to keep in. I kept looking around to see if any of the other parents were about to let loose. Only one....and she was a back corner-I didn't want to join.

Drew is home now and has had quite the eventful day....I am guessing. We got a letter in the mail from the bus company stating that he would dropped off at the driveway at approximately 12:24. I was out waiting for him at 12:20, so excited to hear how his first day when. When I still didn't see the bus at 12:40 I decided not be that parent that freaks out....and wait until 12:45 to call the bus company and see what was going on. So 12:45 comes and goes and I call trying to make it a laughable situation, but I was kind of freaking out. Come to find out the county is repaving a road today (of all days) and that all the buses are running a bit late, but she was going to call the bus driver just to make sure that everything was okay. So I put on hold and she come back to explain that the bus driver had already been by but he didn't get off, but when she called him name after the phone call he popped up and answered.....he had been sleeping! I think I was out there early enough to catch him but I did step inside for a minute to go to the bathroom and left Izzy in charge of looking for the bus out the window.....maybe I a shouldn't trust a 3 year old! Or hold it? At the same time, knowing that this is the first day of school and he is in Kindergarden you would think that the driver would have been a bit more watchful. I had to explain that he had some delays and probley didn't get it. She wants me to make sure that he sits in the front-I guess I will be sending an note to the teacher.....I am not thinking that he is not going to remember it.

Lake Ripley and a surpise shower

A couple of months ago my cousin Michelle and I decided to have a "Family Reunion". We even made these really cute invitations.....(okay she made.....I wasn't feeling good). We are going to do this every year! I would post a picture of one of them but that would mean taking one and downloading it and that just sounds like too much effort for now. This past Saturday was the day of the Reunion at Lake Ripley......it is such a great area. It is a park like setting with trees all over the place and picnic tables, then there is a playground right on the beach area. The water right in front of the playground area is roped off for the little ones and it isn't a very steep grade at all. It is great! Everytime we go we talk about going back soon because it is so convient and such a great place. I once again forgot to bring the camera and so here are a few pics that relatives took of the kids and things.
I have no idea how Kris was able to convince Izzy to float over the pink tube floaty thing.....but it sure did turn out cute.
I just thought that this pic was funny AND since people have been asking for updated belly shots...here you go. I know that I am getting big when I can wear Kris' basketball shorts and fill them out!

Elaine must be building something in the sand here. I never did find out what it was.

The view looking up through the trees.

Izzy splashing through the water.

Izzy swimming-or at least she thinks that she is swimming.....in less than a foot of water.

Elaine and Kris talking.....it look like she was getting in trouble for something....or maybe she was cold....I don't know.

I don't have hardly any pics of Drew. I guess it must be because he is such a wild man it makes it difficult to get one of him.

My family totally surprised me and threw a Baby Shower for me when we were here. I had no idea. Not even a clue. AND here I thought that I wasn't a person easy to pull a surprise on. I think that it was Michelle and Jackie that planned it all.....they were late getting to the lake and brought a cake with them. A REALLY REALLY cute cake. I saw the cake and didn't think much of it-other than that it was really cute. Then there were all of the presents set around the cake...and I still didn't get it. The presents were even baby boy themed.....still no clue. My little cousin had a birthday on Monday so I thought that it was for her so I even asked "How come no one told me about the Birthday party I would have gotten a gift? Now I feel bad." The rest of the conversation went...............

"That isn't a birthday cake."

me: "It's not?" Totally not getting it.

"Did you see what was on the cake?"

Me: "Yeah, puppy dogs, snails, and frogs....." THEN I got it. I was really surpised.

Here are a few pics of the cake. I think was Michelle and Jackie's first time with Fondent frosting....I love it. I think they did such a great job. I really didn't make it easy for them to plan this either. During the week before I kept coming up things to do with them. They were so good about, I don't think they got much sleep.....they spend quite a bit of time with me and then did all the baby shower stuff when they should have been sleeping....THANKS GUYS!!! I really loved it all!

Can you believe it....those dogs are made of frosting?

I know that you can't tell from the pic but on the back side of the cake there are flies, and the frogs closet to them are catching flies!

I got a little chuckle

Yesterday Kris had his Chiropractor appointment, and asked me to wake him at 2 so that he time to get read and be there at 3:15. The office is about 30-45 minute drive from our house. I was having so much fun socializing with my cousins and we ordered pizza for lunch that came way late-1:50pm (now that is a late lunch) I completely lost track of time. I didn't remember to wake him up until 2:40! Poor guy....I go into the bedroom and wake him up-"It's 2:40 you have to get up...." He stares blankly at me at asks "How did that happen?" It sounded like he was asking how it was 2:40 as if it has never been that time in his life. I explained that I was a flake and forgot to wake him up.... He is quick to say that I am not a flake and asks me to call the office and let them know that he sleep in and was it okay that he still come in even if he was a little late? Sure I can call the office. Now here is what I found funny....I call the office and the receptionist answers the phone "Hi, this is Genia how can I help you today?" My response is "I am a bad wife." She laughs hardly and with a slightly flirty/curious tone in her voice asks "How bad are you?" I was so glad that she had a sense of humor about the entire thing and once I explained everything she said that he could just come in.....and no I did not use Kris as an excuse like he asked me to.

Michelle and Jackie (the cousins mentioned above) had come over to help me make me Baby Shower Invitation for a shower that another cousin and are giving in September. Okay-they really did all the hard stuff and even came up with the invite itself. I only picked out colors, the size and cut paper. BOY was I ever glad to have them here. Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU!!! Here is a pic of how they turned out. Aren't they cute? I really think so!

This is just another example how Izzy can sleep anywhere!
And now when the zoomed-out version of the pic you can tell that she crawled up and over my legs while I was laying curled up on the Love Seat resting and she curled up in the space behind my knees and feel asleep. This was after Kris and I came home from our get-a-way. It looks like the kids sure played hard.

Vacation and kids

Let's start with the good stuff....

Drew had his last baseball game, and the good part of this is that I remembered the camera!!! I love this pic. Can you tell that his sunglasses are upside down? I saw him put them on and figured that it was better for him just wear him like that then me to be mother yelling "fix your glasses!"

I came into the kitchen the other day and Izzy was doing dishes. I really do love that she wants to help, and I love the towels already on the floor for the clean up that I knew that I was going to have to do. She cries when I make her stop.

While on our weekend away, Kris and I stopped by a mall that wasn't too far from the hotel....and there was a Sports store that had all kinds of really great stuff in it. Of course Kris had to buy Bears jersey's for the kids. I about had a heart attack when I found out what a kids jersey cost!!! Highway robbery I'm telling you-no wonder they can afford to pay those players what they make! At least everything was on sale! We even got a a jersey onesie for the baby-and yes the baby will wear it along with everyone else when it comes time for games. Kris wanted me to get a jersey too....but I am still a "closet" bears fan and that would just be to much. Beside I really to want to stay part of the Wendtland family.

Now for the not so good, but still turned out okay stuff.....

Kris and I decided that we would take a long weekend before the baby came. Leave the kids with friends and take off. This was really our first time since we have had kids. We have taken a night away and stayed with friends in Ca before but this was different. We had been thinking of doing this for awhile and even had the weekend picked out, but with the house in MI selling and not really knowing how much money that would cost us at closing we put off actually making reservation anywhere. Then we couldn't decided weather to go to Lake Geneva or Chicago for a get-a-way. With the way that Kris has been feeling we decided to go in the quiet Lake direction. Of course while putting this off none of the places that we wanted to stay had any vacancies. BUT we found a really great Bed & Breakfast place up in Oconomoc, WI. It looked great. It was called the Inn at Pine Terrace . Check it out, I am sure that you will agree that it looks like a great place to stay. We reserved room 12....

We dropped the kids off at the Hobbs' and took off. Made a little stop on the way, but managed to get to the Inn about 3:30. Really neat looking place, historic and all that kind of stuff, even had a double Whirlpool tub. When reviewing the Inn on-line I noticed that had Pecan Stuffed French Toast for one of the speciality breakfast.....YUMMY!!!! I was sold on that. We got up to our room-on the third floor.....and it was so hot! Okay I know some reading this don't think 80* is hot, but I am pregnant and one of those way temperature sensitive people.....I get sick if I get overheated. I know I am a big wimp....but that is just how it is. So we are thinking "let's get the air going and see what happens". We stayed about an hour or so in the room and it was just not getting any cooler so we head out for dinner and the lady that checked us in asked me "How's the room?" "Boiling" was the only things I could come up with. I knew that we had to get out of the room or I was going to end up sick. So we head out for dinner and I am already not feeling the greatest because of the room temp. We eat at Olive Garden-the old stand by that Kris hates-actually I just really wanted bread sticks and Alfredo dipping sauce. Not the greatest dinner and then we head back to the Inn thinking that the air would have kicked in and it would cooler. By this point the Inn Keepers are back and say that the air is working. We head back up to the room and it is still 80*. To make a long story short we decided to to leave the Inn because it just was not cooling off-and head toward Chicago and stay in a regular hotel room (which is exactly what we didn't want to begin with!) We left about 7:30 and it was supposed to be about 1 1/2 to get to the new place...but I ended up so sick that it took over 3 hours. I had to keep stopping in order to get sick. I was still really sick on Friday and we didn't even get to really do anything. There was a mall just down the street so we did get out of the hotel room for a few hours but then it was back in bed for me. I felt so bad for getting sick and kind ruining our romantic get-a-way. BUT in the end we talked it over and decided that before we even went the purpose of our trip was just to relax and unwind, just be us together. We did relax.....so I guess we accomplished what we set out too, but it sure would have been nice to not feel like I was going to throw up if I got out of bed.

Update on Kris' love text...

He got another text back....."I'm not your wife? What is your name? I don't know you?" I still think this is hilarious!!!!

Life is SWEET-again!

I haven't blogged for awhile...there has been so much stuff going on it and it wasn't all very good at all, so I figured I would wait until things improved or we had answers to the things that we were dealing with...then it would be good news and not weird leave you hang there news.

I am very excited to say WE SOLD THE HOUSE IN MICHIGAN!!!! We signed papers last Friday and the buyer is signed today!!! It still doesn't feel real to me, I guess the title company still has to wire money to our mortgage company tomorrow for everything to be complete....but all papers are signed! Twenty-two months has been way long. This was a really long month dealing with the old house when we first moved here.....Kris' work has a relocation company that was going to take care of closing cost, and then they didn't think that they could. About two weeks before closing they said they could take care of things again....and then a few days before closing they basically backed out and said that it would be easier for us just to pay for things up front and then we could get reimbursed...oh yeah coming up with all that money is easy! Well, it ended up working out, we didn't have to come to the table with as much money as we thought that we would so now Kris and I get to go away for a long weekend!!!! This basically be the first time since having kids! Our real Estate agent was so good...really went above and beyond what I would ever think one should do. If ever in MI and needing to buy or sell seriously you have to use her!

I mentioned awhile ago that Kris was having headaches...I finally talked him into going to to the doctor and he ordered a CT scan to rule out some things. CT scan results were normal, and the headache is subsiding. With everything thing going on I guess they were stress/tension headaches. Doc wants him to see a Chiropractor. Kris is way opposed to the idea. Anyone have any good or bad experiences with Chiropractors? If so I would love to hear them.

Izzy has been a crack up lately-I should really write them down as they happen, it might mean remembering more than one things when it is time to blog. She came downstairs from bed the other morning and had a sleepy attached to eyelash, real close to her lid. I told her close her eye so that I could get something out of it. She did, but then pushed my hand away and said "It's just my eye ball mom". With a total attitude of don't you know anything!

I feel horrible...I really do hate being pregnant...I can't wait until the end. I am going nuts. I am sure that things are just normal pregnancy things but I don't recall any of my other pregnancies being this uncomfortable. My cow-I think this little guy is try to crawl out the bottom half of my stomach!

So here I am happy and sore!

Another funny. Kris just called from work and asked "You don't recognize your husbands own cell number?" Having no idea what he was talking about.....he explains ..... I guess he had tried text message me from work and got a message back saying "hi do I know you?" So Kris replies with "I'm your husband". Poor guy is so embarrased, once he figured it out and checked the phone number realizing that he really didn't text me....but instead someone else....I am still laughing out load at this. Someone got a love message tonight. I am tempted to call the number that he did text and appologize....too bad I think it is really too late to call.

Spider Update....

I ended up at Walmart and got a bug fogger thing that was supposed to kill spiders...Kris set it off right away and has seemed to do the trick. He drove the car to church this morning and to work this evening-so I don't think that he saw anymore spiders. Good thing too! I do think that he is still a bit freaked out, once we got to church he still had the hebbie-jebbies.

Just so that everyone knows the only reason that I got in the car with it that full of spiders was because they really were microscopic-like. I am willing to kill them and deal with them as long as they are not huge things. The first time I planted a garden I didn't know how far apart the Tomato plants needed to be and planted them too close-went out there one day and there was huge spider on one of the tomato's.....I didn't go into the garden the rest of the year. No I am not kidding, that spider scared me crazy. If I couldn't reach my veggie from the outside of the garden it didn't get picked.

Anyone want a spider infested Monte?

Kris hates spider.....I mean he is deathly afraid of spiders. I have a story about spiders from our Yucaipa house-if you haven't heard that one, let me know and I will share it too. This evening Kris went out to Taco Bell to get dinner for tonight. When he came home I was in the bathroom-he opens the door and turns around and asks "Do have anything crawling on my back?" I look, and say "Ah....no, why?" I think that he is blowing this way out of proportion. He tells me that there are spiders in his car and that he saw about 12 of them. Now that is a lot of spiders to be in a car. Knowing how how much these little things terrorize him I ask him if he would like me to drive his car to the car wash and have them clean it out really good, and make sure that they get all the spiders out. Of course that sounds like a great plan to him. So I get in the car....(does everyone know that I hate his car? It is a two-door Monte Carlo-very low, hard to get in and out of normally and when I am pregnant I basically refuse to go anywhere near it, yeah it is kind of a sore subject). The passenger side window has webs all over it. There are even webs coming down from the ceiling. The spiders hanging on all of the webs are so tiny that I think they are kind of cute. I mean tiny tiny tiny spiders. Maybe not even a few hours old. TINY spiders-itty bitty spiders, if they didn't shine in the sunlight I doubt you'd even be able to see them. I decide then that it might be a good idea to call the car wash and see if they are open, half way there I get the machine and they closed about an hour ago. BUT there is a self-car wash just down the street from the one that I was headed to. I think "Not a problem I can vacuum out some spiders". I check to see if I have change-just enough for the vacuum -$.50, 2 quarters. I pull up to the only vacuum that would be on the right side of the car hop out (I really didn't hop, more like hoist myself out) of the car. Plop the 2 quarters in and nothing happens. After pushing "return coin" button a few times I realize that the machine has eaten my money. No problem-there is a gas station right next door-grab my purse head over, take $20 from the ATM, buy a banana so that I can get change and explain why I need quarters. The cashier laughed. Start heading back to the car and realize that I can't find the keys. I look everywhere, I think that it took me at least 5 minutes just find the keys. I could look in my purse and hold the banana at the same time so I unwrap the banana, throw the peel away and stick the rest in my mouth and start digging with two hand. My purse really isn't that big-just big enough to hid Kris' keys real well. Find the keys get the door open again and a breeze blows by and the little spiders go breezing by-all over the place. At this point as long as they aren't in the car-no big deal there gone. Put another quarter in the machine and it starts up-I guess the vacuums are now $.75 and not $.50. I start vacuuming and counting (I think I got to 40 and stopped counting). I get most of the passenger side done and realize that I am going to have to crawl in the back seat. Many of you have been very nice and have told me that I am not big-thank you for your lies they really do make me feel better-but I still have trouble crawling into the back of the car. Also the car is BLACK-so it is getting hot and I have been bent over vacuuming the front of the car out. So I get in the back and vacuum away-laughing about this. I swear eveytime I though I got them all-a bunch more would come out. I never did figure out were they were coming from. I could just hear them "SEND OUT THE NEXT GROUP OF TROOPS!" There were so many-how many eggs can spiders lay at a time? I don't know the exact number but it is A LOT!!! It keeps getting hotter and hotter in the back-and the vacuum stops...climb back out, put 3 more quarters in and climb back in. I am just sure that I have gotten them all by this time. So I hang up the vacuum and head home-laughing the hole way. When I am about half way home, the next batch of troops was deployed and I just had laugh even harder. I explain all of this to Kris when I get home (he still has the shivers at this point) and he says that he is not driving his car again until I can promise him that the spiders are all gone-looks like we are trading in the Monte! No really he want me to go to Walmart and buy spider bombs. The sad thing is that I think he will be just afraid of the dead ones! Tomarrow he planned on coming home after the first hour of church to get some sleep before work-he doesn't know how he is going to get home now-he actually thinks that I am going to take him....

Long time-catch up....

We have had a couple of exciting days...I know that there was stuff that happened last week but for some reason I can't remember it! Saturday we went to a surpise BD Party for my Aunt Pam's 50th! It was great seeing family that we don't see much and all of the kids had such a good time playing with all of their cousins. I of course forgot to bring the camera (again).

The next day my parents came in with two of their friends Tom and Jo. I enjoyed having company-as I always do. The pic above was taken when we had company one of the days that everyone was here. I have no idea what is going on the picture but obviously Kris was kind of surprised about something that was said. I would have more pictures but I of course didn't get out the camera and this happen to be one that my Uncle Carl sent me. Thanks Uncle Carl!!!

Onto to an even more exciting event-Tyler is back in North Carolina. I love the pic of him, so I copied it from Myspace. It seems that most Wendtlands can do the eyebrow thing. Anyone that hasn't seen him awhile-he looks so old to me all the sudden. Not old as in old foggy old, but just not my little brother anymore...growing up. So MANLY, which is so weird to me. I really wish that someone could have been there for him when he got off the plane, I really do hope that he wasn't the only one without someone there, not that I wish that on someone else, but just that he wouldn't be the only.

So I am coming along-almost 7 months-I think. I am beginning to lose track, and that is a first for me. I am feeling huge, and lumpy-from the looks of the picture. We still can't think of a name. We really like Evan. Evan Kristopher. Well Kris did not like at first and I was so stuck on it and it does have a family history to go along with it,so he agreed to it, but I am not completely settled on it. I keep getting this itch that it needs to be O name or our little guy will feel out. We do like Olin too. Two L's or one L? Is it too weird? Please let me know, I am really going crazy over this name thing-just like I do with each pregnancy. I do like Olson, but I don't think Kris does. I am going to have to ask him again.... I would really hate to pick a name just because it was alright and we really couldn't agree on anything else-how sad would that be.

Love quilts

I love quilts!!! I have one on every bed in my house, one in the living room, and one that YW from the Paw Paw Branch made me hanging over a rocking chair upstairs in our hallway area. I have even been inspired to make one.....well at least I attempted! No really I have more fabric and I am going to start...someday. There is this great quilt that you can enter to win. Just take a look and see. Here is a pic.
Also, I know that I have been slacking on the blog lately.....I will catch up.....someday.....

Going Nuts!!!

As many of you know I love to bake AND I like to add nuts to just about everything. Almost everything is better tasting with a bit of a crunch to it. I do prefer pecans. When Kris and I got married I got a bunch of hand-me-down kitchen stuff. I loved it!!!! Really needed it too. Anyhow I think that it was Aunt Donna-she had placed a nut chopper in pile. I loved it!!! I can't say enough about it. It is so nice to have each nut chopped relativily the same size. When the nut chopper broke I didn't think that it was that big of a deal, I just thought that I would go out and buy a new one. They don't exist!!! Or so I thought. I have been on the hunt for eight years!!! I do have one of the Pampered Chef Chopper and I do really really love that too, but not for nuts. When you use it some of the nuts get chopped up into a fine powder and others stay huge, I know rediculous of me to find that an issue, but I do-a BIG issue too. I can't believe that I found the same style of nut chopper! I am so excited, can you tell by all the explination points that I am using. I just can't contain myself, I am doing the happy dance-inside of course, because I don't want to fall off from the chair!! I really really do high suggest getting this nut chopper- if you are a nut fan like myself.

4th of July Weekend

It started on the 3rd of July when we went up to Newville and had dinner at the camp ground with....Uncle Brian, Aunt Dawn, her daughter-in-law Karrie with her 2 kids Steven and Ava. We also went and got Grandma. Dinner was great. The kids loved the campground it was perfect weather and we enjoyed the company. I of course forgot the camera!!! I just new that when I started blogging I would have a hard time remembering it! So please email pics Aunt Dawn! Anyone know the best way to get campfire smell out of your hair? I love the smell of a campfire just not in my hair. I have washed it twice and when I use the straightener on it, it still smells of campfire.

The next day we woke up and left for Chicago! I was really looking forward to it, we started off with lunch at Giordano's Pizza for lunch. Where we met up with Grandma Judy, Grandpa Phil and one of Kris' sister, Karen and her family. Recently I have been wanting to try authentic Chicago stuffed pizza. I must say I did enjoy it. It was nice to see family too. We don't get to spend much time with them.

Then off to Chicago. We checked into the hotel early where Kris tried to catch a quick nap-but I was so excited who wants to sit in a hotel in Chicago when you have the city to go and see. So we started off and just went to a few stores on the way to Navy Pier. We check out the things on the Pier and had dinner. It was nice, Izzy even feel asleep in the stroller and completely missed dinner and some of the stuff along the Pier. We made sure that we picked out spot on the grass to watch the fireworks nice and early. We even brought snacks, and a bunch of games type things for the kids to play while we were waiting. Since we just didn't see the need to bring the chairs along as we were shopping before hand I took a cab back to the hotel to get the chairs and take a potty break. OH MY COW!!! I don't know what I expected from a Chicago cab driver, but it wasn't the cab driver that himself but the way that they drive-like crazy and I am one who gets very car sick! Is this all cab drivers or just Chicago ones? Mad Cabbies! I about bulleted from the Cab when it got back to the hotel. I was so excited to be able to change my shoes-walking around Chicago is not the place to break in a pair of Rainbow Sandals. Tiff said they were comfy but I am still trying to buy into that one. To make the long story a little shorter-no cab driver wanted to drive back to Pier because it was so crowded- by the time I got to the Pier I had to pee AGAIN!!! and bathrooms are scarce on the Pier with an 1 hour wait!!! By the time the 10 minute (yes 10 minute!) firework show ended I was ready for a mad cab ride back to the hotel but I decided to walk.....not fun. I think I have the hips of an 80 year old right now. I was so so so so happy to have comfy hotel beds. I slept well even though I don't think anyone else did. Anything that we had hopes of doing the next day got quickly thrown out the window-I can't believe how my body is when I am pregnant, there was just no way that I was walking anywhere. We stopped at Garrett's and got popcorn then had lunch on the way home... Needless to say I had wanted to going to Chicago kindof a yearly 4th of July thing, and who know I might change my mind but it really was insane and at this time I really don't want to go back .... a couple hundred bucks for a 10 minute fireworks show....not again.

...and since you are all dying to know....

I don't feel any different now that I am officially 30! I really thought that I should have been struck with some sense of wisdom or I would feel like was an actual adult maybe gained a bit of maturity or something. Overall turning 30 was a big disappointment....can you believe that Kris even forgot to get his own card....on his defence he has been a bit sick....but still.... On Thursday night he got a sudden, sevre headache. Really really weird for him. It has been coming and going all weekend.... nothing normal about it. If it doesn't go away soon I really want him to get to the Doctors.

Work Family Fun Fair

This past Saturday we went to the General Mills Fun Fair, it was a work fun family thing for Kris. The company rents the Boone County Fair Grounds and set up fun things for the kids to do and it was an all around fun day. When we arrived it was raining-if you know anything about me....I hate the rain. Yes we really did stay in the car for the for 20 minutes or so. It rained just a little bit after that. Each of the kids got to pick out a "Build A Bear", and have it made. We had a yummy lunch and I actually remembered to take the camera this day! Surprise surprise! I think the best part of the day is that Kris was talked into signing up for a 1/2hour in the dunk tank! I was great. I guess the only down fall other than the rain was the fact that it was really really windy. They ended up shutting down some of the kids activities because of it. The big super slide was the first one down. The kids also went on a pony ride, well Elaine and Drew went on pony ride. They all waiting in line and when it was time to get on Izzy didn't want to go. After seeing Elaine and Drew go around a few times Izzy decided that it didn't look so bad and she wanted to go, but of course once she got up to the horse for the second time she chickened out again. I am sure that she will be getting over her fear of animals much faster than what Drew did. I am absolutely shocked to see that was even the slightest bit interested in going on a pony ride.

The above pic is of the kids waiting in line for the pony ride.

Elaine enjoying Cotton Candy.

Izzy trying Cotton Candy for the first time. She was completely uninterested in it, and I just couldn't image a kid of mine not liking cotton candy. The only way that I could convince her to even try it was if I took a very tiny piece of it and rolled it in my hands until it was firm and there wasn't anything fluffy about it-then she tried it. She even managed to get the point where she was willing to pull some fluff off herself, but she wouldn't eat it unless it rolled up tight again.

Drew and his Fluff.

Elaine got to be the first one to throw a ball and try to dunk Kris. She did it on the first try! We are a bit surprised! Way to go Elaine!!!

Elaine and Izzy headed down the little dinosaur slide. This slide got shut down shortly after they rode it-due to the wind.

Drew and the slide.

Thanks to all who sent messages and phone calls to see how Kris' mom is doing. I did say that I would add an update. We went down Monday of last week to visit, and she really is doing great. She is off work until she goes back to see the doctor on the 10th, and then he will determine if she needs farther down time. I am sure that she is more than ready to get back to work instead of staying home with Phil while he is working on the house. They are meeting us in Chicago with Kris' sister Karen and her family for lunch on the 4th. I am looking forward to having two days in Chicago. I am not sure how it is going to be with all three kids and all that walking to do. We did manage to get a hotel close to the lake and Navy Pier just so that I wouldn't have to do a bunch of walking. I can handle just a bit at this point. Yes, I really am a very lazy pregnant lady.

Weirdest really great dream

I am in a hotel in IN and I just had the weirdest best dream ever. My friend Elizabeth will understand it.

My dream started off that I was in the basement of my RS president from church, but you know how dreams shift and suddenly you are some place else different.....well it shifted and group of ladies and I were in a building, a Sam's Club size building and it was more like a Flea market antique shop than a Sam's Club. AMAZING! I normally don't shop at places like this ....but really it was such as inspirational, inspiring for decorating that is. This shop had all of these amazing pieces in it. Most of what I looked at in my dream where armoire/wardrobe looky things. I think I ended up picking out about 5-6 that I just felt like I had to take home with me. One that I really had to have I even had the perfect space picked out in the house for it. BUT I realized that being prego I wouldn't be able to do what I wanted to it and was so hoping that Kris would share in my vision. I even came across the mirror. It was the kind that you would have horizontal and it had a very think detailed frame that was painted a creamy yellow color. It was about 4 feet wide and had Daisey craved in the frame and inside of each Daisey was a small antique key that was painted gold. Then it was set up for a quilt-having the bar at the bottom. I thought that I just had to have it, it would be so perfect my craft room that doesn't exist yet. I could put all of my ribbon spools on the pole that was ment for a quilt. It was slightly thicker than the hole in the ribbon spools but I knew I figure out a way to fix that. Everything had stickers on them. I thought that they were numbers for an auction and started to write each of them down and then someone told me that they were price tags. The most expensive piece that I wanted was on $147. WOW. It was a big wooden thing too. I was imaging Kris' face I came home with 5-6 huge piece of furniture that I had plans for. I think the funniest part was that I imaged what angle I would take a picture of each of pieces and then post them on this blog and have a caption under each picture explaining what I was thinking of doing with it and then saying "Elizabeth what would you do?" There really are many more details to my dream but you get the picture...

Sweet, Sour and in-between

Sweet: I wish I could say it like Kris does just so that you could all hear it....Today was great!!!! Or at least here is my sweet.... I got talk to Tyler for over an hour-which I have never done. He gave me a warm fuzzy too. In all the years that I have known him I don't think that we have ever talked that long. He called just a few minutes before I was going to head out the door for a Missionary BBQ thing....I so didn't care if I was late....as long as it was for Tyler. And for a quick up date he has not gone to Germany for surgery and he is waiting until he gets to back to base after his vacation home with family to have the surgery.

Sour: We had some sad news too, Judy (my mom-in-law) had a mild heart-attack today, but she is doing well. We are headed down to see her in the morning. I got the message from Phil when I got home from the BBQ-like normal it took me almost an hour after getting home to even check the machine....I think that I will make it more of a habit to check it right when I get home. I worry about it, she is just the type of person that says "I'm fine, really I am". I will post more after seeing her.

In-between-I am having weird feelings about being 30 in 12 days (really I am not counting the days-I had to look at the calender). Not that I have ever had a hard time with THE BIG 30, but I remember my mom being 30 and not that I thought that she was old but I don't feel as grown up as I thought that she was at this age, or maybe it is that I still don't want to grow up in an odd way. 30 is like really being an official adult. Does that make sense? The 20's are fun-what are 30's? I guess I will soon find out.

The kids, I have to mention them of course...since has been awhile since the last post....they are doing great. Elaine lost another tooth. The has lost the four bottom ones and none on the top yet but one of those is loose. Drew is still just a happy boy.... and Izzy is is amazing me more and more with how she is growing-growing up both in a physical and mental way. I should elaborate on them more, but I am way tired and a good book is calling my name.....I really have to retire for the night so that I can do more laundry in the morning before leaving for Indiana.

OUCH!!!

We had our first "boy" oops today. Poor Drew. He was standing on the arm of the love seat and Izzy jumped up onto the love seat knocking Drew off of it and he landed on the arm of sofa-right where it counts!!! I rushed over to comfort him...(I was on the phone) and all I could do was laugh! How mean am I? All I could think was "Please don't ask me to kiss it?" Which as happened in our family before. So after he was better Izzy and I were in the kitchen and talking about how Drew was doing, and what we should do to make it feel better. She runs into the living room and says "Drew I am going to give you a hug and kiss it!!!" I had to start laughing again....we always apologize with a hug and an "I'm sorry" in the house and she really thought that the kiss would make up for it hurting so bad. She really couldn't understand why she couldn't give Drew's owie a kiss....to her she was thinking that it would be the best way to show she was sorry....

Butt or no Butt....

In our family you either have no butt or a bubble butt. I never had a butt growing up, Elaine and Drew take after me. Well now that I am adult I have a little junk in the trunk-okay more a than a little when I am pregnant, everything wants to catch up and be as big as the belly. BUT my kids still being young don't have that issue. Once when Elaine was being babysat as a baby she had a messy diaper and it got changed, but later she was teased (in a very fun way) that she had a board with a crack-no cheeks what so ever. Yes her legs run right into her back.
Then came Izzy-who has quit the fleshy bum as we call it. I love it. It is perfect. She is getting a little old for this but she gets her bummed pinched and we call it a fleshy bum. this been ever since she was born....we might have to stop she will get a complex about it. Ever noticed that children are so honest....a couple of weeks ago, after shower time, she got a "fleshy bum" pinch and then I turned around to get something out of a clothes basket and she gave my bum a pinch and said "squishy bum!" Now that is something that you want to here. I guess my bum is catching up to the belly quicker than I thought.
Drew came and sat down on my lap this afternoon and I complained that he had no butt.....he response is "yes I do...." and pulled down his pants to show me that yes indeed he does has a butt-a very flat butt. Nothing like being mooned by your 5 year old son-good thing he only pulled them part way down-just enough to prove that there was something in there......and he has no sence of modesty what so ever.
